The Earthquake follows Sheikh Abdelmajid Boularwah as he travels across Algeria in search of his relatives. During his journey, he encounters a society struggling with political corruption, social instability, and the challenges of life after independence. As he moves from place to place, he also faces his own personal memories and inner conflicts. The novel shows the confusion and tensions of post-colonial Algeria through his experiences.
