Young Heidi is sent to live with her grandfather in a remote cottage high in the Swiss Alps. At first, her grandfather is known as a lonely and gruff old man, but Heidi’s cheerful spirit and kindness gradually transform his life. Surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, she forms close friendships and enjoys a simple, happy childhood. Later, Heidi is taken to the city to be a companion to Clara, a girl confined to a wheelchair. Despite the challenges she faces, Heidi’s warmth, optimism, and love of nature have a positive impact on everyone around her.
