1Q84 tells the story of Aomame and Tengo, two people connected by a shared childhood memory but separated as adults.
Aomame unexpectedly enters an alternate reality called “1Q84” after taking an emergency exit from a traffic jam. In this parallel world, reality is slightly different, including the presence of two moons in the sky. A powerful religious cult called Sakigake operates in the background of this strange world.
Meanwhile, Tengo, a teacher and aspiring writer, becomes involved in rewriting a mysterious novel called Air Chrysalis, which is linked to supernatural events and an enigmatic young girl.
