This book follows a girl named CC (Ye Xian) who is mistreated by her family in China during World War II. After being rejected by her father, she becomes alone and homeless. She is later recruited by a secret group of orphaned children called the Secret Dragon Society.
CC trains with the group, learning martial arts and teamwork. They are sent on dangerous missions during the war, including helping Allied soldiers and fighting against Japanese forces. Through these experiences, CC becomes stronger, more confident, and learns the value of friendship and courage.
