Coraline Jones is a young girl who moves with her parents into an old house. Feeling bored and lonely, she explores her new home and discovers a hidden door that leads to a parallel world.
At first, this other world seems perfect. Her “Other Parents” are more caring and everything feels exciting and ideal. However, Coraline soon realizes that the world is dangerous. The “Other Mother” is actually a cruel creature called the Beldam, who wants to trap Coraline by sewing buttons over her eyes.
Coraline must be brave and clever to escape. With the help of a talking black cat, she outsmarts the Beldam, rescues her real parents, and frees the souls of other trapped children.
