The novel follows Víctor, a ghostwriter who spends a night with Marta, a married woman. During their encounter, Marta suddenly falls ill and dies in his arms. Shocked and frightened, Víctor leaves the apartment without telling anyone what happened.
After Marta’s death, her family begins to investigate who was with her in her final moments. Fearful of being discovered, Víctor becomes increasingly trapped in guilt, secrecy, and anxiety as he tries to avoid responsibility.
