Four strangers meet on a London rooftop on New Year’s Eve, each planning to commit suicide. Instead of going through with it, Martin, Maureen, Jess, and JJ unexpectedly encounter one another and decide not to jump.
They make a pact to stay alive until Valentine’s Day. As they spend time together, they slowly share their personal struggles and failures. Although they often clash, their unusual bond helps each of them feel less alone and begin to cope with their problems.
Over time, they start to find small reasons to keep living. The novel explores depression, loneliness, and the idea that human connection can offer hope and a chance to start over.
