January Andrews, a romance writer struggling with grief and writer’s block, spends the summer in her father’s lake house. There she meets her neighbor Gus Everett, a literary fiction author and former rival. Both agree to challenge each other by writing in the other’s genre. As they work together, rivalry turns into romance while they confront personal loss, creative burnout, and their beliefs about love.
