Thamos, Count of Thebes, a member of a secret spiritual brotherhood preserving ancient Egyptian mysteries, is tasked with finding and protecting a “Great Magician” destined to help save humanity. He believes he has discovered this figure in the young composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and introduces him to Masonic rites inspired by the ancient Mysteries. As Mozart immerses himself in these rituals, he finds inspiration for masterpieces such as The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni, while his career flourishes and his personal life deepens. However, his success draws growing danger from political authorities suspicious of the Freemasons, jealous rivals like Salieri, and wider unrest as war looms, forcing Mozart to fight for both his art and survival.
