Eugene Onegin is a bored and cynical Russian aristocrat who grows tired of society life. He moves to the countryside, where he meets the idealistic poet Lensky and the sisters Tatiana and Olga.
Tatiana falls deeply in love with Onegin and writes him a sincere letter, but he coldly rejects her feelings. Later, out of boredom and pride, Onegin flirts with Olga, which leads Lensky to challenge him to a duel. Onegin kills Lensky, an event that leaves him filled with guilt and regret.
Years later, Onegin returns and finds Tatiana transformed into a refined and respected woman, now married. He realizes too late that he loves her and confesses his feelings, but she refuses him, choosing loyalty to her husband.
