Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus, where they must survive extreme dangers and find a way to escape. At the same time, their friends continue their mission aboard the Argo II to reach the Doors of Death and stop monsters from endlessly returning to the world.
The story follows both journeys, showing teamwork, sacrifice, and courage as the demigods try to prevent chaos in the mortal world.
