The story follows Scarlet Benoit as she searches for her missing grandmother and becomes involved with a mysterious fighter named Wolf. At the same time, Cinder, the cyborg heroine from the first book, is a fugitive on the run from the authorities and the Lunar Queen Levana. Their paths eventually converge as a larger conspiracy unfolds.
