Dorian Gray is a young man of extraordinary beauty who wishes to remain forever young after seeing his portrait. Influenced by Lord Henry, he adopts a life devoted to pleasure and ignores moral consequences. While Dorian stays young and unchanged, his portrait ages and reveals the corruption of his soul.
As he sinks deeper into selfishness and crime, the painting becomes increasingly distorted. Eventually, overwhelmed by guilt, Dorian tries to destroy the portrait. However, by doing so, he brings about his own death, and the portrait returns to its original form.
