Set in ancient Pompeii, the novel follows Amara, a young Greek woman who is sold into slavery after her father’s death. She is forced into a brothel known as the “Wolf Den,” where she is made to work as a prostitute.
Life in the brothel is harsh and controlled, and Amara must learn how to survive in a violent and exploitative environment. Despite her situation, she shows intelligence, resilience, and determination, forming bonds with other enslaved women.
As she navigates danger and powerful clients, Amara begins to look for any possible path toward freedom, even though escape seems almost impossible.
