The book tells the well-known story of a vain emperor who cares only about fashion and appearance. Two swindlers arrive in his city and claim they can weave a magical fabric that is invisible to anyone who is foolish or unfit for their position.
Out of fear of being considered “stupid,” no one admits they cannot see the fabric—including the emperor himself. He parades through the city wearing nothing at all, until a child finally shouts the truth: the emperor has no clothes.
